Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
What is the condition of the accommodation?
You will be provided accommodation in one of the village's guesthouses in walking distance to the studio. These offer basic but clean arrangements. There are some accommodations with shared kitchen and bathrooms but everyone has a private bedroom.
They are independently-run rooms in artists’ studios and are not a hotel service with daily changing services. You will need to self-manage your laundry.
What is included in the accommodation?
Heat/AC units in each room, laundry unit, wifi, refrigerator, kettle, microwave, bedding, and towels (soaps and toothpaste are not provided).
There is a convenience store just a block away in case you need anything like toiletries or a usb chargers, etc.
What should I bring with me? How is winter like in Korea?
Clothing on which you are happy to get clay! It sometimes gets very cold during the winter residency (Nov - Jan) with the possibility of snow. We suggest bringing thermal layers and bringing a winter jacket for when you are outside walking to and from the well-heated studio.
Are there nearby hotels?
There are no hotels in the village, only in downtown Icheon. However, we don't recommend these because transportation in Icheon is very limited and time-consuming.
Do you have vegetarian options?
Korean food has various vegetarian options and we provide meals accordingly for students with dietary restrictions - please indicate these during registration.
