Available spots

May 9 - May 21, 2026 We invite you to our very first Intermediate Wheel Throwing Masterclass! This wheel throwing-focused program is designed for students with prior experience in Korean-style wheel throwing, who would like to level-up over an intensive 12 days. Traditional Korean throwing techniques are taught through theory, demonstration, and guided practice. Students are expected to be able to wedge, centre minimum 4 kgs, throw off the hump, and have a grasp of shaping. From there, we will be teaching how to escalate your practice through focussing on larger forms, and jars. Instruction and demonstrations will be given for the group and also catered to each individual student’s goals. During the Masterclass we take students on several ceramic specific cultural outings, along with national living treasure demos and artist visits we can't wait to share with you. Students can expect to walk away with new skills, great memories with new ceramics-minded friends and a few of their own finished pieces produced during the masterclass as a reminder of their time in Toroo Studio. *Please note: - Check in between 3pm - 5pm on May 9th (plan to arrive at our studio during this time). - We will have a welcome dinner with all the students on the evening of May 9th. - Teaching begins May 10th with breakfast in our studio from 9:00am. - Instruction begins each day at 9:30am, lunch will be provided around 1pm followed by a short break and again practice and instruction until evening from 2:30pm until 5:30pm. Dinner will be provided each night. Our last dinner and party together will be on the evening of May 20th. - Checkout is at 11 am on May 21st (plan to leave our studio at this time). Please indicate any dietary restrictions during the registration process. We look forward to welcoming you!
